Gemstone Information
Marcasite is far more affordable than diamonds, so was used as in alternative during the Victorian era.
It is thought that due to it's shiny, reflective surface, that larger marcasite crystal were once used as mirrors.
The ancient Chinese believed that marcasite had the ability to scare away crocodiles.
